You think you have it tough...get out of the way for my great friend Stephen.
I spent last night hanging out with him at his home in Alberta...and really learned about his journey...his is one of true survival.
You see Stephen has Hodgkins cancer..Level 4B...you can't get any worse with that kind of cancer. The odds are against you and your journey back is hard and uncertain. A few times he had been at his makers door...he hurts all the time. He is exhausted..he can't leave his home in case he gets sick from someone else..he has lost all his hair from his 26 treatments of chemo..yea...you think you have it tough.
And my gosh you should see the medicines on his kitchen table and oh..did I mention his wife Pam...her tireless attention to helping her husband on his way back is nothing short of a love we should all be lucky to have in our lifes.
But here's what's happening. Stephen is getting better. He is climbing back up that mountain which he fell off a year and a half ago when they discovered his cancer. He has crawled and scratched his way back..to where he is getting better and some on his medical team are calling it a miracle...
But if you know Stephen like I do and his friends and family do...we are not surprised. Why? Because this is Stephen..he ALWAYS looks on the positive side. He has not only been diligent with his meds etc....but he has willed himself to this point.
As he said to me last night..."Rivers...I still have things I want to do."
Btw...this is what true entrepreneurs do too on their journey...they keep going because they "have things to do"..they don't give up..
I am proud of my friend..how lucky am I to have him in my life.

I'm very proud of Steve and Pam for never giving up on the dream. It's friends like you who make the journey attainable, and the hurdles just distant memories.
